I now have How to Floss a Corset Kits and separate booklets available for sale.  These kits include just about everything you need to learn how to floss a corset:

  • How to Floss a Corset Booklet by Sidney Eileen
  • Flossing sampler blank
  • Spring steel boning
  • Size 6 and 7 English-made embroidery needles
  • Two colors of embroidery floss

The kits are $30/each retail cost, and the booklets alone are $10/each.  Since I don’t have a shopping cart set up on this site yet, they can be purchased by using the contact form, or through my Etsy listings (kit, booklet).

If you would like the carry the kits and/or booklets in your own shop, please contact me for wholesale information.

Excerpt from the booklet introduction:

Corset flossing is functional embroidery. It is hand-stitched designs created at the tip of corset bones to secure them in place. The functional purposes are to prevent bunching of fabric over the boning and reduce wear at the boning ends. Aesthetically, it adds a beautiful touch to any corset.

Flossing may be added to a corset at any time, even years after the corset was made. It also requires no specific knowledge of corset making or sewing. A basic knowledge of embroidery is helpful.

This booklet illustrates some of the basic embroidery patterns I have used for flossing, gives tips relating specifically to corset flossing, and assumes you have a basic working knowledge of embroidery.
