Cover Options – Mesh Corset

Mesh corsets are made using a sturdy mesh material for the body of the panels, rather than coutil.  The boning channels are created within the seam areas, which are re-enforced with coutil in vertical strips.  Horizontal re-enforcement is done with sturdy ribbon.  The use of mesh material is much more difficult and time-consuming, so it is more expensive than standard corset construction.  However, it is far and away the lightest-weight corset type when breathability and heat retention are a concern.  Mesh corsets may also be made to any shaping specification, even tight-lacing.

The mesh materials I use are sport mesh (black), or linen mesh (cream, white, beige, and other assorted colors).

Tightlacing Sport Mesh Corset

This corset was made using sport mesh for the panels and double-face satin ribbon for the horizontal re-enforcement.  It is tightlacing, with a low hip shaping.
