Commissioning Celtic Knotwork Designing original Celtic Knotwork is a very time-intensive endeavor, and is correspondingly more expensive than Sidney's realistic art. All knotwork commissions begin with a design sketch, which will be provided for modification or approval before any inking. This sketch is then placed on a light box with a fresh piece of paper over it and inked by hand. Color is added last. The original copy of an original design will range in price from $100 to $1000*, depending upon complexity. Very simple designs, like the hummingbirds, will be less expensive. More complex designs like the meerkats, are mid-range. Larger and more complex designs will be more expensive. Framing, if applicable, is extra, and is determined by the size of the piece and frame chosen. Please inquire about available frames and exact prices.
