About the Artist Bookmark and Share

Sidney EileenThrough my fantasy and wildlife art, I strive to bring my artistic subjects to life. My goal is to give the viewer a glimps into some fantastic world where animals walk as people, and dragons fly through the skies. The deer looks as though it's ready to dart back into the woods at a moment's notice, and the wolf stares off into the distance as though deep in thought.

When Celtic artwork captured my attention, I dove into it with the same attention to detail and passion for spirit that I gives to my animal art. Through these ancient design styles, I capture the essence of each animal, depicting the graceful beauty of a hummingbird, the strength of a bull, or the spirit of a stallion. The styles of the designs are inspired equally by medieval illuminated manuscripts, Bronze-Age archaeological finds, and the world around me.

My pastimes are not solely limited to fine art media, and I have also devoted a great deal of time to sewing and costuming, especially custom corsetry and historically accurate garb. With the emergence of steampunk as a social movement, I am striving to merge my love of art and my love of craft, blending the past and present into entirely new creations.

My corsets are custom designed for a perfect fit for each customer, and are guaranteed to last. Historic corsets withstood the rigors of daily wear, and each of my corsets is made with that standard in mind. It is this standard of quality that earned me the position of official corset maker for Bustledress.coom.

Sharing knowledge with others is also a passion of mine, and to that end I post instructional articles both here and on Fashion Students Online.

I currently resides in Davis, California. If you live in the area and would like to meet with me personally, please contact me for an appointment.
