There will be no prints of this image. I have found I am unable to satisfactorily scan these white-on-black drawings and retain full detail in the shading. I've never tried to draw wet fur before, but I thought a river otter should be wet. I looked at a lot of photos of wet otters to get the fur and the head right, but I couldn't find a single one that gave me exactly the angle I wanted, and nowhere near the kind of lighting I wanted. No prints. I had a very difficult time getting it to scan this well, and I debated not posting it at all because of the quality. Each panel required 4 scans, and you can see a ghosting on the edges of the paper because it couldn't lay flat.

This piece was inspired a couple months back, when I was at Half Moon Bay watching the moon over the ocean on a very cold fall night. I've been turning it over and over in my head, and this is what I finally came up with.

I sketched this out back at the end of December, but didn't finish it at the time. There won't be any prints of this one because my scanner woefully mangled the subtler shading in the drawing. There is actually a LOT more shading than you can see here, but the scanner so badly yellowed the image that I lost the softer tones entirely. There should be more shading in her face, hair, dress, and on the ground.
