This is a back-dated post for my archive project, where I am copying over every piece of art I have ever submitted to DeviantArt, with the original submission date or watermarked year stamp, so a complete archive of my work can be found on this website.

This is my entry into *RedDrgn’s tattoo design contest. Only *RedDrgn, ~Kresketh, and ~Cyrex056 have permission to use, repost, or modify this artwork, as specified in the tatoo design contest rules. I hope all three of you approve of my interpretation of your characters. (links no longer active)

Unlike my other artwork, I ask that this image is not used for a tattoo by anyone not involved in the tatoo contest, since the characters and image depicted are very personal.

The image on the left is the sketch and ball-point pen image that I started with. I put it on a backlit window and drew the minimalist image on the right. After I was done with both, I couldn’t decide which I liked better, so I posted them both together.

Just as a personally amusing side note, this is the only time I have ever drawn the sketch and the final minimalist piece on two different papers. Normally I ink the minimal right over the top of the sketch and erase the pencil marks, but normally I also do not draw such a complex sketch. I didn’t want to lose those details forever, so I decided to use two pieces of paper.

I modified the colors of the dragons slightly in photoshop since I did not have appropriately colored pens.
