This is a portrait of a friend’s now long deceased horse, Pizzaz. The horse had one dark brown eye and one light blue eye. She graciously lent me the use of her extensive photo collection of animals. I particularly liked the one I referenced for this drawing because the pale blue eye stood out so strongly on the shadowed side of her face.
