This is a back-dated post for my archive project, where I am copying over every piece of art I have ever submitted to DeviantArt, with the original submission date or watermarked year stamp, so a complete archive of my work can be found on this website. Originally posted November 17, 2008.

No prints, and the original is not for sale. This is a portrait fanart, drawn from one of the photos on Abney Park’s myspace page, just because I wanted to. Eventually, I want to draw at least one portrait of every member of the band.

I’m much happier with how this one turned out than the last one. I can still see a couple nit-picky things I didn’t quite get right on Nathaniel’s face, but they’re so minor that I don’t expect anyone else to see them. If you can find the errors, I’ll send you a dA hug. ;)

I took some liberties with the lighting from the reference photo, to help keep clarity without the additional lighting sources. In particular, I changed his hair around a bit.

I’m also quite happy with the guitar, having never tried to draw one before. The perspective isn’t perfect, but at this point, I don’t care. I’d say about half the total time was spent just on the guitar.
