Six sessions
No reference
In the final layer, I darkened the landscape, added some more black to the smoke, and added lighting on the mountainsides.
Five sessions
I’m ready to be done with this one, so I decided not to add more to the smoke.
Four sessions
No reference
I’m going with the feeling of a destructive glow over the horizon, and added some smoke. I think I like it, but somehow I don’t think I am going to be putting this one on my wall when it’s done…

This one started with the idea of painting a dramatic sunset, but I so disliked the first layer attempt that I didn’t upload it. I think at this point it looks more like there is a giant fire happening just over the horizon, so I’m not sure quite what I am going to do with it…
