Templar Mus
This is a back-dated post for my archive project, where I am copying over every piece of art I have ever submitted to DeviantArt, with the original submission date or watermarked year stamp, so a complete archive of my work can be found on this website.
I was looking through a book of photos and came across a photo of a Komodo Dragon walking across a beach. I thought it was a lovely photo, and brought it to the attention of my best friend. Her immediate response was that it should have a mouse riding on its back, and I thought that was a lovely idea.
I have never drawn a knight riding anything before, and I wanted to get it right, so I kept my eyes peeled for a good reference photo. An artist no longer on DeviantArt kindly allowed me to use his “Good Knights” photo as a reference.
This is also the first time I have drawn ocean, so while it did not turn out perfect, I am fairly happy with the final result.
14″x17″ smooth press paper, colored pencil, conte crayon, and chalk pastel. Photo references used.
