During the past several months I’ve slowly been working on some medieval garb for myself and Diana.  Each piece has taken me far longer to make than they would have before I became sick, but it’s felt damned nice to be creating things again, whatever the pace.  I’ll post more photos of the garments as I am able to take worthy photos.

Red and Yellow Angel Sleeve Tunic Dress

Fabric:  100% linen, medium weight
Construction:  Reversible, all seam edges hidden, hand-stitched along front edge of sleeves.

Diana is wearing the dress, which I made for her.  The underdress is a lightweight linen 14th century front lace kirtle.  The overdress is a reversible angel-sleeved tunic dress with slits in the skirt.  It is made from linen fabric on both sides.

I made it in January of 2014.  Since taking these photos I have added herringbone embroidery along all the edges, partially because it’s pretty, and partially to prevent the edges from getting into disarray when washing the garment.  I’ll post photos of the embroidery when I have a chance.

Green Tunic Dress with Pink Trim

Main Fabric:  linen/silk blend, medium weight
Trim Fabric:  cotton velvet
Construction:  French seamed on a sewing machine for all body assembly, machine attached and top stitched edging.

This is a medieval outfit I made for myself in November and December of 2013.  The overdress is a silk/linen blend tunic dress, with pink velvet trim.  The underdress is a 14th century front-lace kirtle, made in peach lightweight linen.
