Sketch 2018-3
This is another prompt from a daily drawing group on Facebook, but this time I attempted hatch shading. Human faces are terribly hard for me. It’s not at all accurate to the reference. I also tilted the image slightly and lost the feeling that she is leaning forward, and had more than a little trouble with her right hand. I don’t feel I’m being overly picky with myself. Noticing such details allows me to understand where the drawing didn’t come out the way I wanted it to, so that hopefully I can do it better next time. I view errors in art as a way to learn and grow and develop, especially when creating sketches and studies specifically to rebuild my skills.
The reference photo is from a Catwoman cosplay done by Mel Meow Cosplay.
