This is a new small portrait of our cat Isa, who passed away from lung cancer about a year and a half ago, created as a birthday present. I’m very happy that it turned out looking the way I wanted it to, even if it took longer to draw and was more difficult than it used to be. But, the only way to get back up to speed and ease of drawing is to just do it.

The photo I referenced was taken in 2013. I picked it because she was smiling, even though her fur was clumpy from being sick. She was developing thyroid problems, which at the time had not yet been diagnosed or treated.
