Given the lack of tutorials on how to make herb bundles for smoke cleansing, offerings, and magic, I decided to experimentally make a few of my own.
Read MoreI must apologize that things have been so quiet around here lately, and even quieter over at The Balancing Path on Patheos Pagan. Part of that is due to the tasks involved in moving The Balancing Path to this site, but there are many reasons for lack of posts, including my health.
Read MoreOn Wednesday, June 16, 2021 I was once again a guest of CTCW Otherworldly, this time talking about ghost cats and reincarnation! I started off retelling the tale of how I encountered an entire litter of ghost kittens when we rescued a tiny lost kitten that was threatened by a tomcat, and how one of those ghost cats later decided to reincarnate as a cat I adopted in the physical world. After that we ambled into talking about the nature of cat souls, my personal take on familiars as fellow witches, and some of my theories on the nature of reincarnation and spiritual evolution. At the end of the video, one of the viewers talked about some of her experiences communicating with the ghosts of animals, including a beloved little rat named Lola, who is a psychopomp that has guided many other animals to the other side.
Read MoreAnger is an incredibly powerful emotion, and at the same time an incredibly tricky emotion to wield in healthy ways. Read MoreAnimism is a natural human impulse, as odd as that might seem in the context of greater Western culture. If you have ever cussed out an electronic device or a curb you tripped over, thanked your car for making it there in time, or mourned the loss of a beloved item, you engaged with those things in an animistic way. Animism means understanding that everything has a soul, from you and me to every animal, plant, object, and place. It is a cosmological perspective on the nature of reality that is compatible with most cultures, traditions, and paths, and an important feature of the philosophies and cosmologies of a great many religions, both historic and modern.

After all, unconventional magical tools are just as valid as typical or traditional ones.
