This is the latest project on my sewing machine. It is tabbed conical stays, with two layers of corset coutil for the core, and a cover of peacock silk taffeta. It is partially boned, and will include a busk pocket in the front. The lining will be white cotton muslin. Presently, the cover and core are sewn together, and the boning channels have been created.
Read MoreThese stays are currently on my sewing machine. The pattern has five panels to distribute the significant amount of bias needed to fit the customer properly. It is made with two layers of hemp/linen canvas, ready for full boning, and the bottom edge is bound. I ran short of boning, so I’ll finish this project
Read MoreToday I worked on a black satin un-tabbed conical corset. Plan is to have it finished tomorrow, but I ran short of a couple bones so it will depend upon whether or not I can get the boning tomorrow. The core is made from black corset coutil, partially boned. The cover material is black crepe

Sorry folks, but I’m not taking the time to prep them, and I don’t have a handy-dandy-super-speedy data phone through which to upload. I’ve been scything leather to make dark

I am also adding the striping detail to all breast panels, rather than just two of them.

In addition to painting it, I am also planning to make two underlayer kimono, and I’m hoping (fingers crossed that I’ll have time) to make a
Read MoreI started work last evening on a silver satin kimono, one of the costumes for the Nova Albion convention in March. I chose this material for my first attempt because I have a whole roll of it, little use for it, and it is a wonderful weight and flow for a kimono. When finished, I
Read MoreThis corset is a remake of an earlier corset that had a serious drafting error. As long as I had to re-make it, I made some other improvements over the earlier corset. This one has a slightly smaller waistline (at the customer’s request), spiral boning around most of the body (instead of spring steel flats),
Read MoreNext up is a leather brassier. When finished it is going to be made from heavy-weight dark brown leather, with a buckle front. The shaping is demi-cup, so it will support without fully covering, and will descend a bit down the torso like a bodice. The very rough mock-up is pictured below.
